HSV Pro: Königsdörffer: Why I Thrive Under Baumgart and Didn't Fit Walter
HSV professional in demand
HSV professional Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer is currently one of the most sought-after strikers in the 2nd Bundesliga. In an interview with the "Hamburger Morgenpost", the 21-year-old spoke about his development under coach Tim Walter and his reasons for leaving the "Rothosen".
Noisy farewell in summer 2022
Königsdörffer left HSV for Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2022 after a loud farewell. In Dresden, he immediately played a key role and helped the Saxons avoid relegation. In the current season, the attacker has already scored twelve goals in 17 league games.
Baumgart's influence
Königsdörffer attributes his strong performances to the influence of his current coach Markus Anfang. "Markus Anfang gives me a lot of confidence and has a clear plan for me," says the striker. "He knows my strengths and weaknesses and always tries to get the best out of me."
No fit under Walter
Under Tim Walter, Königsdörffer was often only used as a substitute. He didn't feel comfortable in the coach's system. "Tim Walter's style of play didn't suit me," says Königsdörffer. "I need a coach who trusts me and gives me freedom on the pitch."
HSV interested again?
Königsdörffer's strong performances have not gone unnoticed at HSV. According to media reports, the "Rothosen" are interested in bringing the attacker back to Hamburg. Königsdörffer himself does not rule out a return. "HSV is a great club and I had a great time there," says the attacker. "But I'm currently focused on Dynamo Dresden and want to help the team achieve our goals."
